Foreign Representations of the Principality
The relations of the Principality of Seborga with foreign states are defined by the articles of Title V of the General Statutes.
The Prince may appoint, even unilaterally, his own Representatives in foreign countries, after consulting the Crown Councilor for Foreign Affairs. The Foreign Representatives of the Principality promote, in their respective countries, the history, culture and tourism of Seborga in a purely symbolic and representative capacity. The role of Foreign Representative of the Principality of Seborga does not entail any official or diplomatic status, as the Principality is not recognized by the international community. Any initiative undertaken by the Foreign Representatives of the Principality must be previously agreed upon with the Prince and the Crown Councilor for Foreign Affairs and approved by them.
Similarly, the Principality of Seborga can welcome within its territory representatives of foreign countries wishing to establish a relationship with the State, after consulting the Crown Councilor for Foreign Affairs and with the favorable opinion of the Prince.
The Principality of Seborga and other foreign states can sign international conventions that regulate the relationship between them.
Below are the currently operational Foreign Representations of the Principality of Seborga. Please note that the following is the only official and constantly updated list of the Foreign Representatives of the Principality of Seborga; please rely and refer to this only.
The header of each state shows, in order:
– (line 1) in brackets, the three-digit ISO identification code and the name of the country in English;
– (line 1) the name of the State in Italian and in the official language of the State;
– (line 2) the official name of the State in Italian and in the official language of the State.
The order in which the Representations are listed is alphabetical and follows the name of the State in English.
